It costs more than £525 a day to maintain the work of St. Michael’s and to pay for the upkeep of the building (which is not state funded), and most of the activities within the church have a financial aspect.  This Committee administers both the incoming funds and outgoing expenditure, reporting regularly to the PCC and via the PCC Treasurer to the annual Parish Meeting. This includes the administration of the Giving Scheme (a scheme for regular planned giving to which all church members are strongly urged to belong) and the Gift Aid scheme, whereby maximum benefit can be obtained from tax refunds on contributions to the church.
