Welcome to this Festival of Celebration at St Michael’s Church, Bishop’s Stortford.
The present church building has stood on this site since the beginning of the 15th Century. Over the centuries it has witnessed the Town grow from a small hamlet to the size it is today. Through those years it has stood as a symbol of the abiding presence of God in this Town.
Today, it is home to a lively worshipping congregation and it the venue for expressing much of the Town’s life. The purpose of our Festival is to celebrate the rich diversity of our Town and Church, and to give as many people as possible the chance to see and appreciate what is good about Bishop’s Stortford
We hope you enjoy the Flower Festival and the many displays and events of the three days. You are of course more than welcome to attend the church service on Sunday, 20th at 10.00 am when our guest preacher will be the Dean of St Alban’s Cathedral and our Songs of Praise on the same day at 6.00 pm
We hope and trust that the co-operation between Town and Church will continue for many years to come. We truly have a rich Inheritance on which to build.
If you would like to participate in any way, please call the Parish Office on 01279 654416
